A veteran who was living out his last days in hospice was able to see his dog one last time. Albuquerque Animal Welfare would share his emotional story on their Facebook page. The veteran by the name of John Vincent was admitted to the Hospice Center at the Raymond G. Murphy Veterans Affairs Medical Center recently.\r\n\r\nHe has no family in the area, so he would have to surrender his dog, named Patch, to the shelter. "Our AWD Director, Danny Nevarez, along with team members Joel Craig, Desiree Cawley and Celina Chavez-Fennell took Patch down to the Hospice Center for the reunion. It was such a heart warming moment! They were so happy to see each other and to say their goodbyes. It was an honor to make this veteran's final wish come true. Patch is now back at our Westside Animal Shelter awaiting his new home. Patch already has an interested adopter."\r\n\r\nIt was an absolutely emotional experience as team members watched the reunion take place. As stated in the Facebook post, Patch is already awaiting a new adoptive family, which is super exciting.\r\nInternet users extend their sympathies and love\r\n\r\n\r\nMany people have already been sharing their sympathy and love for the story.
