According to People, Vergara shared photos from the gathering on Aug. 30 and called the group her “American family,” while admitting she could hardly believe six years had passed since the series finale. For viewers wondering about Ed O’Neill today, the reunion offered a welcome look at the 80-year-old actor alongside the costars who spent more than a decade playing his television family.

O’Neill played Jay Pritchett throughout all 11 seasons of “Modern Family,” with Vergara portraying his wife, Gloria. Bowen and Ferguson played Jay’s adult children, Claire and Mitchell. Their complicated but loving family became the heart of the ABC comedy, which premiered in 2009 and reached its 250th episode with the series finale in 2020.
Since leaving Jay behind, O’Neill has kept a much lower public profile, though he has continued acting. He portrayed former Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling in the 2024 FX series “Clipped” and appeared in “All’s Fair” in 2025.
