More than 50 years after The Partridge Family ended, Danny Bonaduce is looking back at two of the women who helped make the show a television favorite. The former child star recently shared rare updates on Susan Dey and Shirley Jones, giving longtime fans a glimpse into where his former costars are today.
Bonaduce played Danny Partridge on the ABC sitcom, which aired from 1970 to 1974. According to Remind Magazine, Susan Dey and Shirley Jones were discussed during Bonaduce’s May 28 appearance on the Pop Culture Retro podcast, where he spoke honestly about his current connection to both actresses.
Danny Bonaduce Shared An Update On Shirley Jones
Jones played Shirley Partridge, the warm onscreen mother of the musical family. Bonaduce said he does not see her often now, but he gave a reassuring update about her life. He noted that Jones is 92 and still looks good, even though he has not spoken to her in a while.

He added that he stays in touch with her son, Shaun Cassidy, and hears updates through him. According to Bonaduce, Jones is doing well and has fully retired. For fans who remember her as the steady heart of The Partridge Family, the update offered a quiet but comforting look at her life away from the spotlight.
Susan Dey Has Chosen A Quieter Life
Bonaduce also spoke about Dey, who played Laurie Partridge, his onscreen sister. He said he once thought Dey avoided Partridge Family reunions because of bad memories. However, he later came to understand that fame simply was not her thing. He explained that she never seemed to want the kind of attention that he personally enjoyed.

After The Partridge Family, Dey built a strong acting career of her own. She later starred as Grace Van Owen on L.A. Law and won a Golden Globe for the role in 1988. Her final acting credit came in 2004, when she appeared in two episodes of Third Watch. Bonaduce said he believes she has had a regular office job in upstate New York, though he was not sure whether she still works there. His comments on Susan Dey Shirley Jones showed how differently former child stars can respond to fame, even after sharing the same beloved show.
