Candace Cameron Bure showed her support for her sick costar, Dave Coulier, during a recent interview with Fox News Digital. Dave is currently undergoing treatment for stage 3 non-Hodgkins lymphoma, which he was diagnosed with after experiencing swelling in his neck and groin area.
Bure admitted to being in denial upon hearing the sad news; however, she encouraged him to seek medical intervention right away. The 48-year-old said it was not until Dave started losing his hair that she finally accepted the heartbreaking fact that he had cancer.
Candace Cameron Bure remains hopeful amid Dave Coulier’s illness
Bure assured that Dave’s illness is quite treatable and that she is constantly praying for him. She commended her Full House co-star’s ability to make humor out of anything—including his illness—adding that he has remained positive despite the update.
Bure emphasized that her strength lies in prayer because being a celebrity does not stop her faith. The mother of three has also shown solidarity with Dave via her Instagram stories while pledging support for his wife, Melissa Coulier, during this challenging time.
More ‘Full House’ stars pay tribute to Dave Coulier
John Stamos led the tribute with multiple Instagram posts, the first being a carousel featuring past and present snaps of him and Dave, and a more recent one where he sports a bald cap to match Dave’s shaved head. Although Stamos received backlash for being performative with his false haircut, Bure said she loved his sense of humor.
Andrea Barber, who played Kimmy Gibbler in Full House, also cheered Stamos and Dave in the comments, noting that she loved them both so much. Meanwhile, Dave hopes to get into remission in the coming year, as he has undergone up to three surgeries so far, plus his first round of chemotherapy.
