It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Drew Barrymore has played her part in the awareness. She devoted a special episode of her talk show just to enlighten women on breast cancer. She was filmed getting a mammogram in front of her studio audience.
The 49-year-old actress brought a scanning machine to the set of The Drew Barrymore Show, and she allowed cameras to roll as she did her mammogram.

On her talk show, Barrymore addressed the topic of breast cancer to reduce people’s anxieties about mammograms. “When we hear the words breast cancer and mammogram, I know that it can bring up a lot of fear and anxiety and a lot of pushbacks of I don’t want to deal with it and if I don’t deal with it, it will go away.” She said.
After which, she declared on air that she was going to have a live mammography to show viewers how it works. Barrymore got ready for the test with Dawn and Morgan, the viewers who joined her. She was assisted by technician Terry during the procedure.
She made a joke about never having had a mammography while wearing heels. The show host clarified that the test was not challenging after the screening was completed. “It feels like you could just take out the breast and squeeze it really hard with both hands.”
