Marie Osmond is not going to leave her hefty fortune to her children when she dies. Marie has shared over the years that she doesn’t plan on leaving her children any money and she recently confirmed it again. Marie has six biological children as well as several stepchildren.
While she said she supports her children, she believes that she would be doing them a “disservice” if she left them all of her hard-earned assets. Marie is estimated to have a $20 million estate and if she doesn’t spend it all before she dies, the rest will go to charity.

She explained, “Honestly, why would you enable your child to not try to be something? I don’t know anybody who becomes anything if they’re just handed money. To me, the greatest gift you can give your child is a passion to search out who they are inside and to work. I mean, I’ve done so many things from designing dolls [and much more]. I love trying [and] I wanna try everything. I’m a finisher.”

She has also always encouraged her children to be “finishers” and made them finish anything they started. Marie believes her children would become “lazy and entitled” if she left her fortune to them. Plus, she said, “I worked hard. And I’m gonna spend it all and have fun with my husband.”
It is true that Marie has been working hard since she was a young girl. However, she doesn’t completely keep her money to herself. She said that she does help the kids if they need it and covered half the cost of all of their first cars if they earned the rest themselves.
