Janet Jackson’s album Control hit No. 1 on the charts for the first time in 35 years! Janet recently celebrated the album’s 35th anniversary. She tweeted and thanked her fans for making the album a hit once again.
She shared in a video, “I was at home just the other day by myself and I began to cry. I was crying because I was so thankful for all that God has blessed me with. All that he has given me.”

She continued, “I want to thank all of you for making ‘Control’ number one once again after 35 years. [I] never, never, in a million years… I would never think that this would happen. I really appreciate you and I love you so, so much.”

Control was Janet’s third studio album. She was only 19 years old when it came out. It was No. 1 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and remained on the chart for 91 weeks. The album originally came out in 1986.
Control features hits such as “Control,” “What Have You Done for Me Lately,” “Nasty,” “The Pleasure Principle” and “When I Think of You.”
