Captain Tom Moore has been hospitalized with COVID-19. You may remember us introducing you to Tom a few months ago when he raised millions for the UK National Health Service last year by doing laps with his walker. Sadly, the 100-year-old WWII veteran is now in the hospital battling coronavirus. His daughter Hannah Ingram-Moore posted a statement online.

“I want to update everybody that today (Sunday 31st January) my father was admitted to the hospital,” she writes. “Over the last few weeks he was being treated for pneumonia and last week tested positive for COVID-19.”

She continues, “He was at home with us until today when he needed additional help with his breathing. He is being treated in a ward, although he is not in ICU.” She adds that her father’s medical care over the last few weeks has been “remarkable and we know that the wonderful staff at Bedford Hospital will do all they can to make him comfortable and hopefully return home as soon as possible.”

“We understand that everyone will be wishing him well,” she adds. “We are of course focusing on my father and will update you when we are able to.”

Well wishes!

As mentioned previously, Moore raised over $40 million for the UK’s National Health Service by walking 100 laps around his backyard garden ahead of his 100th birthday. He would later receive 125,000 birthday cards from people all over the globe, with messages from Prince William and Kate Middleton and even Queen Elizabeth for his incredible work.
Back in July 2020, Moore was knighted by Queen Elizabeth on the grounds of Windsor Castle. We are all wishing him well during this time!
