The McEntire family recently lost their matriarch, Jacqueline McEntire, who was Reba McEntire’s mom. She passed away on March 14th, 2020. They had to postpone the funeral due to the coronavirus pandemic. They were finally able to have a proper funeral for her and Reba shared the photos to social media.
“Our Mother, Jacqueline McEntire, made that wonderful cross over into Heaven today. She had a wonderful, full, healthy life and was absolutely ready to go. The cancer might think it won the battle but we’re giving God all the credit on selecting the time for her to go home to Him. She was ready to see our Daddy, her mama and daddy and all her family and friends,” the original statement of her passing said.

Reba’s sister, Susie, also posted a tribute to her late mom on Facebook. “Rest in deep peace Mamma. Say Hi to daddy for me. Kate and I, among 1000’s will miss your grace, wit, generous heart and common sense. I love you and am so proud to always be your baby girl.”

It was just two days after her passing that Reba announced they would have to “indefinitely postpone [their] Mama’s funeral and burial.” This was due to the fact that the coronavirus had become a global pandemic. A majority of the country had already put out quarantine orders, so they couldn’t have a proper ceremony yet.
Susie echoed Reba’s sentiments in a post of her own. “All services and events surrounding Mama’s funeral are postponed until a later date. Thank you for understanding.” Despite this ‘indefinite’ postponement, it looks like they were able to have a ceremony! On March 31st, Reba posted a montage of photos from the day, saying, “This is us always having each other’s backs. Tight knit family. She taught us that. #mama“
Rest in peace, Jacqueline. You will be missed by many! In the meantime, take a listen to Reba’s song “You Never Gave Up On Me,” which was dedicated to her late mother.
