It has been revealed that Marie Osmond will take Sara Gilbert‘s spot on The Talk next season. Sara had already announced that she would be leaving at the end of this season, due to her busy schedule now that she is on The Connors.

The official announcement was made last week on the show while Marie Osmond was a guest. Confetti flew from the ceiling as Marie walked out and they showed photos of Marie over the years. She hugged all of the current cast members on The Talk and seemed very excited!

Here’s what Marie had to say about joining The Talk

On the episode, Marie said, “I have so much gratitude in my heart today, I am honored to be here. And, I am so excited to be here. To be able to sit at this table with these beautiful women is just a dream come true for me. I always wanted sisters.”

The 59-year-old recently announced the end of her Las Vegas show with her brother Donny. She said that she had other projects in the works and it appears this was one of them!

Reportedly, every time Marie was a guest on The Talk in the past, the ratings went up. So, it is no wonder why they asked her to be a regular on the talk show.

Sara Gilbert is actually the creator of the show, so many will be sad to see her leave after nine seasons. According to Page Six, Sara said, “Last season, I did [ABC’s ‘Roseanne’ reboot] ‘The Conners’ and was also producing and [hosted] here. I loved it and felt totally empowered, but also, if I’m being honest about it, my life was slightly out of balance. I wasn’t able to spend as much time with my three kids as I’d like, or take time for myself.”

We hope that Sara gets the rest and time with her children that she needs! In the meantime, we are so excited to see Marie join The Talk. She joins Carrie Ann Inaba, Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood, and Eve. Season 10 is set to premiere this September.
