Do you love shopping at Target? Many people love Target for their variety of products and good deals. The first Target store opened in 1962 and it has remained a popular retailer. Many people joke that they spend much more money than they plan to when they head into the store.

If you want to save more while you shop, here are some tips that Target employees may not want you to know.

1. You can tell the discount by the clearance tag

While sometimes the products are advertised by their percentage off, sometimes you have no clue if you are really getting a good deal. You definitely don’t want to go into Target next week and find the item you just bought on sale even more! Look closely at the clearance tag. You will see a small number at the time that generally says 30, 50, or 70. This is the percent the item is on clearance. If you see something for 70-90% off, that is likely as low as the price will go.

2. Target has specific sales on each day of the week

If you are looking for a specific item, you need to know when to buy it. Generally, baby and children’s clothes are on sale on Monday’s. Women’s clothes are on sale on Tuesday’s. Shoes, lingerie, and domestic products are on sale on Wednesday’s. Lastly, jewelry is on sale on Thursday. Keep in mind that each Target store may have their own schedule, so next time you head into your favorite Target ask about their sale schedule. If they aren’t allowed to tell you, show up early and keep track of where the employees are marking items down or stay posted to the website.

3. You must know the specific return policies

Target’s general return policy is that you have to return items within 90 days of purchase. However, they give you more time on Target brands like Threshold, Mossimo, and more. They may give you up to a year! However, you only get 30 days to return any electronics or entertainment items.

4. You can adjust a price if an item goes on sale

If you buy an item and realize it went on sale the next week, don’t worry! You can bring in your receipt and the coupon and Target will adjust the price for you. Just make sure you get the price adjusted within two weeks (14 days) of purchasing the item.
