Secluded location: The “hotel” is parked by the side of the road in a semi-deserted village called Al Jaya, where Abu Ali hails from.
Interior design: The “hotel,” decorated with handmade embroidered sheets and pillows, can sleep two guests at a time.
Dream fulfilled: “I wanted to start a project that improves its [Al Jaya’s] situation and places it on the tourism map, because it truly overlooks some of the most beautiful scenery in the region,” Abu Ali says.
Checking in: Abu Ali took out a bank loan to fund the construction of a “lobby” inside a nearby cave.
Positive feedback: The “lobby” is full of business cards and notes from satisfied former guests.
Expansion plans: Abu Ali hopes to one day build a hotel compound made up of old Volkswagens.
