Published August 5, 2025

Kelly Osbourne is grieving the loss of her father, Ozzy Osbourne, and sharing how much the support from fans has meant to her during this difficult time. The 40-year-old television personality reflected on her heartbreak in an emotional Instagram Stories post on Monday, Aug. 4, less than two weeks after her father’s death at 76.

“I’ve sat down to write this a hundred times and still don’t know if the words will ever feel like enough… But from the bottom of my heart, thank you,” Kelly wrote, expressing gratitude for the outpouring of love following Ozzy’s passing on July 22. “Every kind word, every shared memory, every bit of compassion has meant more than I can ever explain,” according to People Magazine.

Finding Strength in Support

Kelly Osbourne admitted that her grief comes in waves and will take time to heal. “Grief is a strange thing—it sneaks up on you in waves,” she shared. “I will not be OK for a while, but knowing my family are not alone in our pain makes a difference. I’m holding on tight to the love, the light, and the legacy left behind.” Her message was accompanied by her father’s song See You on the Other Side, a poignant nod to their bond.

This isn’t the first time Kelly has opened up about her father’s death. On July 24, she paid tribute by sharing the Black Sabbath song Changes, writing, “I lost the best friend I ever had.” Days before Ozzy’s passing, Kelly posted a touching video of him with her 2-year-old son, Sidney, capturing one of their sweet family moments.

Kelly Osbourne also spoke earlier this year about the close relationship between her son and her dad, calling them “best friends.” That bond made Ozzy’s funeral procession in Birmingham on July 30 even more emotional, as Kelly joined her mother, Sharon, and siblings Aimee, Jack, and Louis to honor the legendary rocker.

For Kelly Osbourne, healing will take time, but she says the love from fans and her father’s lasting legacy will help carry her through.
