Jack Osbourne Reveals He And Sister Aimee Were ‘Not Close At All’ Prior To Reuniting At Ozzy’s Funeral

Published August 5, 2025

Aimee Osbourne has always taken a quieter path than the rest of her famous family. While her siblings embraced reality TV fame, she focused on building her own identity away from the spotlight.

In a conversation recorded just a week before Ozzy Osbourne’s death on July 22, her brother Jack revealed how their relationship had grown distant over the years. Speaking on the Disrespectfully podcast, he admitted they “were not close at all,” a reality both siblings openly acknowledge.

Why Aimee Stayed Out of the Spotlight

According to Jack, Aimee Osbourne skipped The Osbournes because she wanted to be seen as a serious artist. “Back then she really wanted to be a musician,” he said. “The kind of musician she wanted to be was like a Fiona Apple or Mazzy Star—like this kind of obscure, mysterious, moody artist.” She saw appearing on MTV as “low-hanging fruit” and didn’t want to “ride coattails,” even if it meant staying private.

According to People Magazine, Jack added that once the show became a hit, it made her decision even more permanent. “Once the show was hugely successful, she thought coming on later would look like jumping on the bandwagon,” he explained. Instead, Aimee released music under the name ARO and carved out a life that reflected her values.

Valuing Privacy and Honoring Family

Aimee Osbourne has said she values privacy because it gives her space to grow. In a 2020 interview, she explained that avoiding the show allowed her to “develop into a human being” rather than being remembered only as a teenager. For her, privacy wasn’t rejection—it was self-preservation.

Despite her distance from the cameras, Aimee stood alongside her family at Ozzy’s funeral procession in Birmingham on July 30. Wearing a black veil, she joined her mother, Sharon; sister, Kelly; and brother, Jack, to say goodbye to her father, proving that even private paths lead home in moments of loss.
