Legendary rock band Talking Heads, started originally by vocalist-cum-guitarist David Byrne, drummer Chris Frantz, bassist Tina Weymouth, and guitarist-keyboardist Jerry Harrison, was a defining force in the ’70s and ’80s music scene, with several groundbreaking albums such as Remain in Light and Speaking in Tongues. Even though they achieved success, the group broke up in 1991 after releasing their last album, Naked.
Now, several years after its disbandment, the group has once again generated waves of excitement among its faithful fans as they recently dropped hints about a possible reunion.
Talking Heads makes a subtle announcement of a reunion

The band shared a cryptic video animation on their official Instagram page, accompanied by the date “6/5/2025” in the description. The date quoted remains one of high importance to them because it marked their debut performance, which took place 50 years ago on June 5, 1975, at the famed CBGB bar in New York.
The subtle announcement is not the band’s first attempt at getting back together. In January 2024, reports revealed that the group was offered a considerable sum of money, to the tune of £62 million, to reunite with headline performances at six to eight major music festivals. However, the founding members unfortunately rejected the opportunity despite not having played together since their final stage performance on February 6, 1984, in New Zealand.
