When the clip went viral, fans began searching for the reporter, hoping to confirm whether the similarity was natural or had been digitally altered. The truth only emerged when Google Gemini reported the photo as an AI-manipulated image, overlaying Jackson’s face on a genuine Polish news reader. Even that did not extinguish the viral post, which continued to pull in the hits.

After it was discovered that the image was created by AI, social media would not let up. Memes were trending, pitting the look of the newscaster against other celebrities, including Wendy Williams and Paula Abdul. The incident was a testament to how fast rumors spread on the internet and how eager people are to believe in pop culture conspiracy theories.

The Legacy of Michael Jackson and fans’ obsession with lookalikes

Jackson’s influence on popular culture and music is undeniable, but his distinctive appearance has also given the fuel for decades of speculation and fascination. Since his death in 2009, there have been numerous conspiracy theories, including allegations that he had faked his own death.

While this alleged Polish newscaster isn’t actually Jackson in disguise, the hysteria demonstrates that the world is still captivated by the Thriller vocalist. In music, impersonators, or on the internet in the form of hoaxes, Jackson is still captivating the world even to the most unbelievable extent.
