The legendary founder and frontman of the vocal group The Miracles, Smokey Robinson, is now embroiled in a high-profile legal battle following a lawsuit instituted by four female housekeepers. The detailed allegations leveled against him showed a pattern of abusive behavior, with the plaintiffs claiming that they were subjected to sexual battery, assault, false imprisonment, and emotional distress during the period in which they were employed in Robinson’s home.
However, the lawsuit has now taken a new turn as the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has launched an investigation into the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer’s alleged inhuman treatment of his domestic workers.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Victims Bureau has confirmed in a statement that it is actively investigating criminal allegations involving the music legend. They noted that no further details will be provided yet due to the sensitivity of the matter and the fact that the investigation is still in its early stages.
Corroborating the statement, Robinson’s attorney, Christopher Frost, revealed that even though the timing of the police report that led to the initiation of the investigation seemed like a calculated strategy by the plaintiffs, the police department is bound by law to perform its duties effectively. He emphasized his client’s willingness to cooperate with the investigation, expressing confidence that the truth will ultimately vindicate Robinson.
Robinson’s attorney says the allegations are motivated by financial gain
The Plaintiffs’ attorney, while filing the lawsuit last week, explained that the four women, due to their vulnerable positions as low-wage workers, lacked the necessary resources and options to defend themselves against repeated sexual assaults during their employment. He also underlined how the women’s immigration status contributed to their initial hesitation to come forward since they feared possible consequences.
However, Robinson’s lawyer has vehemently denied the accusations, calling them unfounded and motivated by money. He stated that the claims were only crafted to tarnish Robinson’s reputation.
