Longtime fans of Ozzy Osbourne will remember Randy Rhoades, who was Ozzy’s guitarist in the early 1980s. He even played on Ozzy’s first two solo albums, “Blizzard of Ozz” and “Diary of a Madman,” and at that time, his work was the standard in metal guitar playing. He was easily one of the most influential guitarists of his time.
Tragically, Rhoads’ life was cut short in a plane crash on March 19, 1982. He was just 25 when he passed away. However, Ozzy has not stopped honoring his memory. Decades later, Ozzy continues to pay tribute to him. On the 43rd anniversary of his death, Ozzy penned down an emotional tribute to him.

In the tribute, Ozzy said, “He came into my life like a bolt of lightning, and as such, he was gone again. He also added that he considers himself one of the luckiest men alive to have not only met him but also to have been able to work with him. He also called him “possibly the best composer and musician that he has met in his life.”
In 2021, Rhoads was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. At that time, Ozzy also praised his impact on metal music. Now, as Ozzy prepares for his farewell show, he continues to keep Rhoads’ memory alive.
