Paul Stanley has been the face of KISS for decades, with the black-and-white face paint, over-the-top stage performances, and booming vocals, making him a figure associated with rock music. That is why fans were shocked when the 73-year-old artist was seen bare-faced in Los Angeles on March 13.
Looking casual in a grey zip top over a black t-shirt, well-worn jeans, and multi-colored trainers, Stanley looked like an entirely different person compared to his stage presence. He had gone out for an evening walk with his 16-year-old daughter, Sarah Brianna Stanley.
Where is Paul Stanley now?
Since retiring from KISS, Paul Stanley has dedicated his time to other new things. As the Ambassador Spokesperson for the HOUSE Research Institute, he educates the public regarding the dangers of loud music and unguarded exposure to high sound levels, particularly among adolescents. In addition to advocacy, Stanley is also an entrepreneur. He is one of the founders of Rock & Brews, a restaurant chain with great food, craft brews, and a rock-and-roll atmosphere.
The franchise has an aggressive rollout plan, going international while serving charitable causes, including Wounded Warriors and school children. Stanley also developed Soul Station, a band that dedicated itself to keeping timeless R&B and soul music going while introducing original material. He currently lives in Beverly Hills with his wife, Erin, and three children.
Paul Stanley’s musical journey
Paul Stanley’s role in rock music cannot be disputed. A member and co-founder of the band KISS, he played a leading role in developing the band’s iconic sound and spectacle-filled performances. The Starchild wrote and sang most of KISS’ greatest hits, including “Rock and Roll All Nite,” “I Was Made for Lovin’ You,” and “Detroit Rock City.”
In his professional lifetime, Stanley has led KISS to record-breaking achievements, selling over 100 million albums worldwide. The band’s over-the-top concerts, fireworks, and face paint made them one of the most legendary rock bands of all time. In 2014, KISS was welcomed to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, cementing its spot in music history.
