
Billy Joel, known for timeless hits like “Piano Man,” “Uptown Girl,” and “We Didn’t Start the Fire,” was scheduled to perform a series of shows as part of his ongoing tours across the United States of America and Canada.
In a new development, the musician has shared news that has left his fans all over the country devastated with the announcement of his decision to postpone some part of his tours due to a medical condition.

In an official statement posted on the musician’s Instagram page, it was announced that Joel who suffered a tragic fall while performing at the Mohegan Sun in Connecticut on February 22 has now postponed some dates of his current tour for four months to give him time to recuperate from a recent surgery that he underwent and also complete a course of physical therapy with the guidance of his medical team. The statement also noted that the singer is expected to make a full recovery, and the tour is set to resume on July 5, 2025, at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh.
Joel also expressed his regret over the tour’s postponement but emphasized that his decision was made to prioritize his health. He praised his beloved fans for their understanding and support for his craft throughout the years and stated that he is looking forward to making a swift return to the stage to reestablish his connection with them.
Billy Joel has battled several health challenges over the years
This is not the first time Joel has faced health-related challenges that have impacted his career negatively. In 1982, the singer was involved in a serious motorcycle accident on Long Island that resulted in injuries to his hands, temporarily delaying the production of his album The Nylon Curtain.
In 2022, Billy Joel shared with his fans that he had been struggling with an undisclosed medical condition which forced him to cancel his December residency at Madison Square Garden.
