Recently, the band embarked on a tour and fans who have been in attendance at the various locations have noticed a significant change in Wilson’s performance as she has been appearing on stage in a wheelchair.
This shift has sparked curiosity and concern, leading fans to assume that it was directly related to her struggle with cancer. In a bid to clear the air, the rock legend in a new interview has addressed the concerns of her fans, while also giving the reason behind her recent use of a wheelchair.

In the recent edition of her podcast, After Dinner Thinks With Ann Wilson, which aired on Wednesday, March 5, the musician disclosed the reason behind her use of a wheelchair, refuting the widespread speculations that it was related to her battle with cancer. Wilson explained that just a few days before the start of her band’s ‘Royal Flush’ tour, she was involved in an accident when she missed her step and fell, resulting in injuries to her elbow, which was fractured in three places.
The injuries were so serious that a surgical intervention involving pins and screws was quickly performed to stabilize her joint. The 74-year-old much to the relief of her fans stated that, despite the severity of her injuries, she was perfectly fine except for the temporary loss of mobility in her left hand. She noted that the high level of pain that she now faces has left her with no other choice than to make use of a wheelchair during her performances.

Elsewhere in the podcast, Wilson mentioned that some people have viewed her choice to perform in a wheelchair as a sign of weakness which has evoked feelings of pity in them. The musician stated that instead of thinking of her current situation negatively, she considers it a great tool.
Wilson also assured her fans of a quick recovery, stating that she will be out of the wheelchair in no time.
