Tim Hackman, who is a nephew of the deceased actor, recently came out to address the rumors flying around. He stated that the family wants actual answers, not online speculation. He did state that he understood people were concerned, but he called for patience because the toxicology tests would tell them what they needed to know.
He mentioned that the family is trying to remain hopeful despite the doubt. At this moment, they want to commemorate Hackman’s life rather than dwell on different possibilities. He assured everyone that once the entire test is revealed, they will handle it as a family.

The authorities are still trying to find out what really happened. According to the Santa Fe County Sheriff, carbon monoxide poisoning had been eliminated. Emergency responders checked for leaks and other toxic environmental factors and reported nothing unusual within the home.

What they did find, however, was very disturbing. The bodies of the couple showed they had been in a state of advanced decomposition, with medical experts estimating they had been dead at least nine days when they were discovered. The authorities are now hoping for the autopsy and toxicology reports to fill in the blanks.
