The rock band Heart is dealing with a great shock after their lead vocalist, Ann Wilson, was diagnosed with cancer amidst their Royal Flush Tour. Ann revealed her diagnosis via a statement to inform her fans about her health update and announce the postponement of their ongoing tour, which kicked off in London recently.
Thankfully, the doctors caught the tumor early and the singer will be taking the rest of the year off as advised. It’s unsure at the moment if Heart will regroup later in the year to continue their postponed tour without Ann or the band will wait till she fully recuperates.
Ann Wilson had an emergency surgery
The singer shared more information about how her cancer was diagnosed, the approach the medical team took to contain it, and how they will make sure it doesn’t metastasize; however she didn’t disclose the type of cancer she was diagnosed with. Ann has undergone a successful operation to remove the malignant tumor and she is in good health.

She has also been counseled by her doctor to commence chemotherapy as a preventive measure to reduce the chances of relapse and the singer is happy to go through with their recommendation as she continues to heal.
Is Ann Wilson going to be back on stage soon?
The singer is planning to adhere strictly to her doctor’s instructions about taking a break from work as she affirmed to her fans in the statement that she plans “to be back on stage in 2025.” She added that she is only on a temporary hiatus and will soon return to singing and performing.
To end the statement, Ann thanked her bandmates, fans, family, and friends for their support during this trying time. She also added that she would not be granting any more press releases regarding the issue as she plans on focusing her energy on making a full recovery and getting back on her feet.
