Tim Allen’s recent transformation has left his fans in wonder, as the 71-year-old actor, who played Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story, recently revealed how he drastically lost weight during an exclusive interview with Entertainment Today. He was also promoting his new sitcom, Shifting Gears, which premiered January 8.
It is not the first time Allen has undergone a dramatic change for his work, and many might remember how he put on weight for his role in The Santa Clause. Although a fat suit and extensive makeup helped to achieve the look, sources say that Allen also put on some pounds in real life to fully embody his character.
How does Tim Allen stay fit?
Tim Allen’s fitness journey began with a simple but effective routine of pull-ups. The actor committed to doing pull-ups four days a week during the COVID-19 lockdown, and now credits it as the habit that transformed his body. He explained how that one exercise routine also reshaped his physique while helping him shed excess weight.
In addition to physical activity, Allen adjusted his eating habits. He noted over the years and due to aging, he now prefers to eat less. This helped to complement his fitness routine towards achieving what he described as a “different body style” much quicker. Allen admitted that he now feels healthier and more energetic.
Tim Allen did not realize how fit he looked
Despite his dedication, Allen confessed that he hardly noticed just how fit he had become until recently. While watching scenes from his new show, Shifting Gears, he was just as surprised at his appearance as his fans. It further dawned on him that he is in better shape when an interviewer complimented his toned look.
