Tim Allen has carved out a niche for himself in Christmas movies, especially with his role as Santa Claus in The Santa Claus series. It has been 30 years since the first part of the trilogy series was released in 1994, and it quickly grew into a Christmas classic, with viewers delighted by the heartwarming and humorous representation of the Santa Claus legend.
The success of Tim Allen with The Santa Claus series created greater expectations of fans from the actor when Christmas with the Kranks was released. However, some viewers were left unimpressed and considered it a terrible production.
Tim Allen’s Christmas movies – and ‘Christmas with the Kranks’ is among the best
Although most viewers have concluded that Christmas with the Kranks was not worth the excitement, some of Tim Allen’s fans have found interesting reasons to rewatch the Christmas movie. Set in Illinois, the Kranks go all-out for Christmas every year with a big family celebration and elaborate plans.
However, after their daughter, Blair Krank, leaves for a job abroad, Luther and Nora decide to spend Christmas on a tropical cruise instead, thinking it will be more relaxing and cost-effective. However, their decision is met with resistance from their neighbors, who are shocked and upset by the Kranks’ decision. The Kranks’ lack of participation creates a ripple effect in the community, as their neighbors are increasingly judgmental and upset.
Although the plot sounds intriguing, some viewers don’t like the movie because they think it’s a little too silly or because the neighbors act kind of mean. It has a low rating from the audience and remains one of the lowest-rated Christmas movies of all time.
