During an appearance on Staci Keanan and Christine Lakin’s podcast Keanan and Lakin Give You Déjà Vu, the actor revealed that every morning, he and Larry Hagman, who played the role of J. R. Ewing, his onscreen elder brother, would go into Hangman’s locker and have a glass of champagne just before shooting started, and also have another couple of drinks during their lunch break.
He noted that the ritual began when he and the actor who passed away in 2012 met for the first time at the Warner Bros. studios. Duffy added that after their introduction, they both settled down to have some drinks right before they started “reading the pilots of the” project.
