A throwback photo of the late Joan Rivers recently resurfaced, and fans are shocked at how different she looked in her later years. From the pictures, one could assume Joan did not age at all, as her skin glowed thanks to cosmetic procedures.
Joan was quite vocal about her love for plastic surgery in her lifetime and even wrote a book, Men are Stupid … And They Like Big Boobs, that details the reality of surgery and its financial consequences. Joan had so much work done she joked about having a twin just to know what she truly looked like.
What plastic surgeries did Joan Rivers get?

While in college, Joan attempted nose thinning, after which she got her first eye lift at 32, which was the same year as her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. She followed up with more facelift and liposuction, joking that her body should be donated to Tupperware as it is all plastic.
Joan continued to get work done on her face, as seen in old age, and would often get turned away by plastic surgeons for wanting too much done. Her daughter Melissa Rivers once called for help with breaking Joan free of surgery addiction, but this did not stop Joan from chasing a perfect face.
Joan Rivers was afraid of looking ugly
In Joan’s words, going to the plastic surgeon’s more often than most was driven by the desire to look nice because no one loves ugly. She proudly admitted during a chat with Anderson Cooper in 2007 that she makes weekly trips to the doctor’s, and she sees these visits as getting coffee.
She also disclosed getting Botox every five to six months, humorously adding that her husband killed himself because she took the bag off her head while they made love. Interestingly, Joan was having liposuction the very night of his demise and nursed no regrets about her sessions under the knife until she died in 2014.
