Elizabeth McGovern is sporting a new look while filming her TV show The Talamasca, which is based on Anne Rice’s book series, Vampire Chronicles and Lives of the Mayfair Witches. She stars as Helen in the series alongside co-star Nicholas Denton.
Elizabeth looked gothic in her black outfit, which complimented her shoulder-length silver hair and dark makeup. The iconic actress is making this appearance 44 years after her debut in the 1980 film Ordinary People, which shot her to fame in Hollywood.

Elizabeth was only 19 when she began her Hollywood career, and nearly five decades later, she is still actively gracing screens at 63. She earned her first Oscar nomination a year after debuting for Ragtime, where she played Evelyn Nesbit.
Aside from acting, Elizabeth explored music as a singer-songwriter and guitar player for the Sadie and the Hotheads bands, and they often performed at a club in London. Elizabeth released five albums as a member of the group, though her latest one was credited to her despite featuring her bandmates.
Playing Helen
Elizabeth’s character in The Talamasca is described as a leader of the New York Motherhouse who moves to save the Motherhouses from further decline after the London one falls and a mysterious murder occurs. While Elizabeth is busy with her latest role, she will be reprising her role in Downtown Abbey’s third installment, which will be released in 2025.
Talamasca is also scheduled to premiere on AMC and AMC Plus later in 2025, with season one featuring six episodes. Meanwhile, previous adaptations of the Anne Rice book series, Interview With the Vampire and Mayfair Witches, have been approved for new seasons and will make their comeback next year.
