Charo made a rare appearance at Project Angel Food’s “Lead with Love” anniversary special last weekend, where she provided updates on her life so far outside the spotlight. The multi-talented entertainer and top Flamenco guitarist has been living her best life and was glad to share the details at the event.
The 73-year-old showed up in a gorgeous blue dress that exposed her thighs while flattering her figure and strutted the red carpet in a pair of gold platform heels. She also styled her blown-out blonde hair in a half updo, leaving out bangs in front and letting the rest of her curls fall to her shoulders.

Charo described the moment as heaven and joked about removing her clothes every time they donated a thousand dollars to the cause. She confessed to not looking forward to the end of the event, noting that there was nothing else to do once she took off the makeup. Regardless, Charo made the most of her time there and partook in the kind cause.
While discussing with PEOPLE, Charo gushed about the beauty of life’s simple joys, emphasizing how lucky she feels to enjoy basic privileges like good health, a filling dinner, shelter, and warmth. Despite losing her producer husband, Kjell Rasten, to suicide in 2019, she had fought to keep her mental health in check through helping others.
She cared for Rasten during his battle with bullous pemphigoid, which is a skin disease that left unending blisters on his body despite using many medications. They both had a son named Shel Rasten, who has taken after his parents as a producer and actor, known for productions like The Boulevard, FAMOUS, and 2002’sCSI: Miami.
