Reports say Matt LeBlanc has grown even more reclusive since his co-star Matthew Perry died last year. The 57-year-old is reportedly concerned about becoming overwhelmed by fame and prefers little doses of it instead.
Matt has also kept his daughter Marina Pearl LeBlanc away from alcohol and drugs, although he used to be a light smoker. The sitcom star prioritizes his sanity over a quick paycheck and would even ask his agents to lose his number for a few years.
Matt LeBlanc has grown reclusive in the past year after Matthew Perry’s death
The success of Friends led to a spinoff for Matt’s character, Joey Tribbiani, titled Joey, which lasted only two seasons. After Joey ended in 2006, he took a long hiatus that had fans wondering if he silently retired. At the time, he and Perry grew closer as they lived not too far apart in Pacific Palisades.
Perry’s death came as a shock to Matt, who already nursed fears about his trajectory in Hollywood. Last year, some fans said he probably feels too unworthy to be seen with his former costars because his career contains no special highlights. An insider disclosed that he is also unhappy about his drastic weight gain and is working on that, too.
What is Matt LeBlanc up to now?
Matt is still sticking with his low-profile act and is hardly on social media these days. After snagging a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Television Series, musical, or comedy in 2012, and four Prime-time Emmy nominations, Matt did some guest appearances and hosting.
His last known TV role was in CBS’ Man With a Plan, where he played Adam Burns for its four-season run. The show reportedly closed down due to high production costs following the merger between the host network and Viacom.
