Alice Cooper Fans Freak Out As ‘Rip Alice’ Trends On Social Media

by Peace A

Published June 11, 2024

The recent trend table on X, formerly Twitter, had Alice Cooper fans in a frenzy as they thought their idol had died due to the “RIP Alice” phrase. Soon posts began to pop up asking if the songwriter had truly passed away, causing the phrase to become even more popular. It was later confirmed that Cooper was alive and well to help calm the tensions.

Some users thought the trend was exaggerated since only 3,000 people posted the phrase, and more reposted to share their relief after getting reassured of their favorite singer’s well-being. The misunderstanding was soon figured out, and all was well again.

Cooper is doing well and is currently on a world tour while getting ready for his Freaks On Parade shows this summer with Rob Zombie. They will be starting out the summer tour in August at the Isleta Amphitheater in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with the final stop in September at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.

While Cooper is confirmed to be hale and hearty, the trending Alice in question is an internet goldfish that died and had its fanbase mourning its loss. Cooper loyalists found it amusing that they panicked over a fish, however they paid tribute and asked its owner to simply get another from the store.

There was even more confusion as someone assumed “Alice” to be a certain Alice Stewart, who died in May and was known for her social commentary. A user penned a rather sarcastic tribute, noting that she died childless and lonely, with her “entire career remembered as fully vaccinated.”

Away from the recent ruckus, Cooper is still very much active at 76, and when he is not recording or touring, the father of three is having a good time golfing. He does not appear to be retiring soon, having previously noted that the word “retirement” is not in his vocabulary. Still releasing new music, Cooper’s latest album, Roar, featured his long-time band members, Ryan Roxie, Chuck Garric, Tommy Henrikson, Glen Sobel, and Nita Strauss and was produced by his buddy Bob Ezrin.
