In a discussion with Vanity Fair Spain, Gere shared details about his blended family’s upcoming move to Spain. The family, comprising his wife and their three children, Alexander, who is five years old; their second son, born in 2020; and 11-year-old Albert, Alejandra’s child from a previous marriage, will be making the transition for an extended period.

He expressed excitement about living in Spain, anticipating a joyful experience for the whole family as he is familiar with the people and the culture. The actor also noted that the move marks a significant milestone as it will be his first time residing outside the United States.
Gere highlighted that their decision to move the family to Spain stemmed from his deep-seated desire to reciprocate his wife’s sacrifice of leaving her homeland to join him in the United States. “She was very generous in giving me six years living in my world,” he said.
