Rumer Willis could hardly wait for Mother’s Day before celebrating her mom, Demi Moore, with a collection of rare throwback photos. The 35-year-old took to Instagram with a lengthy heartfelt note and slide shows featuring Demi as a child, in middle school, as a young adult, and all grown up cuddling Rumer.
Rumer took her followers down memory lane, recalling the earlier days of Demi’s career as a brat pack member “with her signature husky voice and impressive talent.” “Before she was my mother, she was a young woman on her own, looking to find her place in this wild world,” Rumer’s caption read.

Rumer made the touching post in collaboration with Teleflora, urging her followers to participate in the brand’s Mother’s Day special by using their template for a chance to win juicy prizes. Regardless, fans were touched by the promotion, which showed Demi in a more personal light. “I know it’s an ad— but this is so sweet,” a user noted.

Interestingly, some followers in the comments claimed to have memories of Demi when she was pregnant. They nostalgically recalled how happy the Indecent Proposal star was while pregnant with Rumer. “I remember her pregnant with you, my bestie worked for her, she was glowing and SO SO SO HAPPY to be having you!! Bruce too. They were SO happy,” a fan stated. “Your beautiful Mom and Bruce were filming in Paducah, KY when you were born,” another quipped.
Rumer Willis and Demi Moore had a strained relationship
It was not always blissful between Demi and Rumer, as mother and daughter have had their share of disagreements. The mother of three battled with drug addiction and unhealthy living for years and relapsed terribly after her breakup with Ashton Kutcher. This strained her relationship with Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah for years until recently.

Thankfully, Demi is actively involved in her girls’ lives after “doing the internal work that she didn’t have the time to do for a long time because she was just in survival mode.” In a 2019 interview with The Times, Rumer also admitted that she has learned to consider her mother as a person prone to mistakes rather than an “immovable god of Olympus” like she grew up thinking.
