Despite him featuring in successful family classics and sitcoms like Home Improvement and Last Man Standing, some people believed that Tim Allen’s acting was kind of rough early on in his career. On the flip side co-star Patricia Richardson thinks otherwise, arguing that his acting has always been top-notch.
Patricia has known Tim since the beginning of his acting career when they played married couple Tim and Jill Taylor on the ’90s series Home Improvement. “I kept telling the guys who would like, bug him, and after our first couple of performances, they would be on him, and I would be like, ‘Why are you giving him such a hard time? He’s brilliant,'” she recalled to Fox News.
Tim was a good listener
Patricia said she had worked with actors who “had trouble listening” and were very “self-conscious,” but Tim was different. “Tim was right there for it always. And so it’s not surprising that he went on to a long career of doing a lot of movies and other shows,” she said.

Patricia claimed Tim was diligent and took lessons to be a better performer. No one could better play the role of Tim Taylor as it required emotion and depth, and Tim made a perfect partner with her in the funny and emotional scenes.
Tim’s successful career proves his capability
Since the 2000s, Tim and Patricia have featured in a number of successful productions. A couple of years ago, Patricia appeared on NCIS, and fans were delighted to see something different from her usual roles. She also acted in other classic series like The West Wing, Grey’s Anatomy, and Last Man Standing — which starred Tim in its original and revival series that jointly lasted for a decade.
Tim’s latest project, The Santa Clauses, has been renewed for a second season, and the 70-year-old actor will return as Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story 5. He confirmed his return with a tweet earlier this year that read, “See ya soon Woody, you are a sad strange little man and you have my pity. And off we go to a number 5! To infinity and beyond!”
