During a recent episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show, the goddess of Pop, Cher, chatted with host Jennifer Hudson about her romantic relationships and thriving career. The 77-year-old gave reasons for her choice in men, addressing the criticism over the age gap between herself and her boyfriend Alexander “AE” Edwards.
The “Believe” crooner prefers younger men because “men my age or older— well, now they’re all dead, but before, they just never, they were always terrified to approach me.” She added that younger men like AE are “the only ones” not scared of her since they were “raised by women like me.”

During a chat with Extra last October, Cher talked about her reality of dating someone four decades younger. “Sometimes I’m talking to him and he has no idea who I’m talking about,” she said. “The other day, I said, ‘Do you know who, I don’t know, Clark Gable, is?’ Somebody said, ‘Yes, of course,’ but most of my references…He’ll look at me and go, ‘I wasn’t born yet.’”

Thankfully, they have other middle ground to bond over like music and AE’s four-year-old son, Slash Electric, whom he had with his model ex-girlfriend Amber Rose. “I hate to talk about how happy I am, but no, we have a great time together,” Cher gushed. “We can talk music. We can talk about everything. He’s a got a great sense of humor, he’s got the cutest son in the world, ever. We just get each other.”
Fan criticizes her for her dating preferences
The multiple award-winning singer has often had to confront trolls over her preference for younger men on social media. One of her fans, Georgette Hohl expressed her concerns about Cher’s relationship with 37-year-old AE, saying she was “not sure how I feel about this.”
“I’ve been a fan for so long that I’m immediately suspicious of his intentions towards you. WE know you are fabulous and I’m sure your inner circle will continue to have your back,” Hohl commented on one of Cher’s loved up snap with AE. “Want you to be happy, but not taken advantage of!!!”
The singer did not hesitate to clap back at the fan and defend her love life, noting that she was old and experienced enough to make her own choices. “As we All Know.
