In terms of the limelight, Goldie Hawn has had a quiet last two years, but she’s stayed active giving fans updates on social media. Hawn’s daughter, 44-year-old Kate Hudson, recently shared a candid snap starring Hawn that has some of Hudson’s 17 million followers saying Hawn looks pregnant.
78-year-old Hawn is the proud mother of three children: Oliver and Kate Hudson, whom she shares with ex-husband Bill Hudson, and Wyatt Russell, who she had with her longtime partner Kurt Russell. She’s also a grandmother to Kate’s daughter, Rani Rose Fujikawa, who posed with grandma in the sweet snap that has fans debating so much.

Over the weekend, Kate took to Instagram to share a photo of her mother and daughter bonding, alongside a series of other candid family photos from the Hudson household, led by Kate and her fiancé, musician Danny Fujikawa.

“Lately… love is buzzing,” Kate captioned the post.
The first photo sees Hawn leaning over with her hands holding Rani’s head lovingly. Because of the way Rani is leaning against Hawn, plus the lighting and wrinkles of Hawn’s shirt, some fans think this gives the illusion that Hawn is pregnant and harboring a baby bump. “Goldie looks pregnant, no? Is it just my imagination?” one commenter mused. Another agreed, “Why does she look pregnant?” A different post, however, said, “I hope Goldie is well?!”
What’s the latest, actually
Technically, a woman in India delivered twins through in-vitro fertilization via cesarean section when she was 73, so pregnancy isn’t an impossibility. But it’s not an actuality for Hawn; the shadows cast by Rani and her arm just create a particularly shocking optical illusion.
What has been going on for Hawn has been some work in front of the camera for film and for her social media pages, which are dedicated to chronicling her career from past to present, along with her dedication to healthy living. Many of her posts feature her exercise routine – but she is also big on mental health awareness.
For World Mental Health Day, she urged her followers to take “time out” for activities that inspire “joy and prayer,” adding, “It doesn’t matter the world you live in. It matters how you feel about yourself. And what you’re giving to others and what others are giving to you.”
