This is it: no turning back. Macaulay Culkin officially has his very own Hollywood Walk of Fame star, awarded to him in a ceremony that was attended by his real family and the one who left him Home Alone in the ’90s.
Since around 2017, Culkin, today 43, has been in a relationship with fellow actor Brenda Song, with whom he starred in Changeland. In April 2021, Song gave birth to their first child, a son named Dakota, and recently the couple welcomed a second son. Song and the two kids were present for Culkin’s big day, as was his Home Alone mom, Catherine O’Hara, who honored her film son in a heartwarming way.

Culkin’s fiancée, 34-year-old Song, along with their two young boys were at the ceremony bestowing Culkin with his very own star along the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It’s the kids’ first big public debut of this nature. At the event, Culkin was photographed kissing his younger son’s head; the youngster was seen wearing a gray knit vest against the winter chill. Their older son was seated on a family friend’s lap a row behind, his hair trimmed in a mohawk.

Culkin gave a special shoutout to his family during his acceptance speech.
“I’d like to thank Brenda. You’re absolutely everything, you’re my champion,” he gushed. “And after the birth of our two boys, you’ve become one of my three favorite people.” He added, “You’re the only person happier for me today than I am. You’re not only the best woman I’ve ever known, you’re the best person I’ve ever known. You’ve given me just all my purpose. You’ve given me family.”
To the institution that granted him this honor, Culkin said, “Thank you to the Walk of Fame committee for honoring me in this way. I feel such esteem from this whole thing. There’s so many people that I love, and to feel that love back is just amazing.” His on-screen family was also in the spotlight.
Catherine O’Hara honors her ‘Home Alone’ son Macaulay Culkin
As if seeing the star behind a Christmas classic getting such a grand distinction wasn’t emotional enough; Culkin was also honored by his on-screen mom O’Hara who, for all her character’s forgetfulness was a beacon for young Kevin McCallister in his campaign of terror against the Wet Bandits.
“Home Alone was, is and always will be a beloved global sensation … the reason families all over the world can’t let a year go by without watching and loving Home Alone together is because of Macaulay Culkin,” Praised 69-year-old O’Hara during Friday’s ceremony.
“I know you worked really hard,” she continued, “I know you did, but you made acting look like the most natural thing in the world to do.” She also spoke to the poise he conducted himself with, noting, “It’s a sign of intelligence in a child and a key to survival at any age.”
“Macaulay, congratulations,” O’Hara went on. “You so deserve your star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. And thank you for including me, your fake mom who left you home alone not once but twice, to share in this happy occasion. I’m so proud of you.”
