There’s no shortage of red-carpet photos showing off the most made-up looks a celebrity can boast. Thanks to social media, there are also plenty of natural moments fans get to see. Recently, Nicole Kidman showed off her natural beauty in a new photo featuring minimal makeup and the effect is inspiring.
Kidman, 55, rose to fame through the 1989 thriller Dead Calm and became an international name with 1990’s Days of Thunder. Since then, she has gone on to win and be nominated for several accolades and is ranked one of the highest-paid actresses in the world. But for a moment, Kidman showed fans a much more casual side with an all-new look for her iconic head of pale blonde hair.
Nicole Kidman gets candid with a casual outdoor photo
Over the weekend, Kidman showed off an outdoorsy photo in which she was seen bearing minimal makeup and keeping her hair down in a low ponytail. She shared the picture to her Instagram Stories, and along the side, text read, “Two early birds,” along with emojis of a twinking face, an owl, and a green heart.

For those who might have missed it, that caption is the first clue to something more hiding in the picture. Sure enough, just above Kidman’s left shoulder (right, looking at the photo), an owl can be seen perched in an upper tree branch watching the photoshoot.

In that outdoor photo, Kidman sported appropriate travel gear, with a comfortable top and a cap to protect against the sun. But May 1 marked the 2023 Met Gala with a dress code called “in honor of Karl.” For this themed ceremony, Kidman was also appropriately dressed in all the sparkle and awe typical of the event, dressed in a Chanel dress designed by Karl Lagerfeld.
All eyes were on Kidman as she strode out in a pale, feathery gown that left her arms bare, while a sheer veil trailed behind her like a ghost. Kidman actually first wore that dress for the Chanel No. 5 perfume commercial “that Baz Luhrmann and I did with Karl, who concocted this out of his head.” She further revealed, “I have the sketches when he was drawing it.”
Let there be no doubt, Kidman can pull off every look out there.
