Guy Fieri’s 17-Year-Old Son Ryder Poses For Prom With Girlfriend

Guy Fieri‘s 17-year-old son Ryder has reached another milestone! Ryder, currently in 11th grade, is attending junior prom, and he posed for photos with his girlfriend while the two were dressed in coordinating formal attire.

Ryder is Fieri’s youngest son with wife Lori Brisson. The Food Network icon and Brisson got married in 1995 and had son Hunter back in ’96. The two also raised their nephew Jules, after Jules’s mother, Fieri’s sister, died in 2011 of metastatic melanoma. Here’s how the family is doing at this eventful time.

Over on Instagram, Fieri and Ryder showed off some photos from the big day, prom. Ryder captioned his post, “Out of the ordinary,” rounding off the revelry with a rose. That same rose matches the one in his suit pocket, which in turn coordinates with his tie and the red dress of Ryder’s prom date, as she stands by his side outside.

Additional photos show Ryder and his date exploring the scenic view outside with barely a cloud in the sky. Other friends and family members pose beside them, including Ryder’s mother and father, Lori and Guy.

Food for family and friends

Guy Fieri was declared by The New York Times as the “face of the network” as far back as 2010. But he’s been committed to balancing work and family and never letting the latter become a secondary focus. “Family is always the first priority,” said Fieri. In fact, Fieri considers his family his greatest accomplishment; so, when he built his Food Network empire, he had already climbed to the top before becoming Mayor of Flavortown.

“Most of my friends will [say] I haven’t changed. I think it’s because when I got into television, I’d already done what I wanted to do,” he explained. “I wanted to be a great dad.”

Part of that means passing along his skills to the next generation. So, Fieri is actually helping Ryder’s school, teaching and directing the culinary program so they, through The Guy Fieri Foundation, can make 500 burritos for an upcoming Special Olympics. That is certainly some exciting food for thought!
