Recently, Netflix unveiled a new trailer and poster for their upcoming action-comedy series FUBAR, featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger in his first-ever television role. The series consists of eight episodes and is scheduled to debut on the streaming service on May 25th, 2023.
The Terminator star revealed that a lot of his fans have anticipated him taking part in an action film. “Everywhere I go, people ask me when I’m going to do another big action comedy like True Lies,” Schwarzenegger disclosed in a statement. “Well, here it is. FUBAR will kick your ass and make you laugh — and not just for two hours. You get a whole season.”

The movie tells the tale of a father-daughter team, portrayed by Schwarzenegger and Monica Barbaro, who discover that their professions as CIA agents have been kept secret from one another. Their relationship is built upon falsehood, and this truth comes to light while they’re searching for a weapon of mass destruction. As they embark on this mission, they must adapt to the warzone environment, which doesn’t quite fit with their familial dynamics.

The trailer of the movie shows that Schwarzenegger, who played the character Luke has had enough of being a CIA agent, and he announces that he is “done” with the job. After making this declaration, he rides off on his motorcycle. A colleague at work also confirms that Luke is officially retired, while another asks him about how he wishes to spend his time off work.
However, Luke reveals that his main plan in retirement is to spend quality time with his family and win his wife back following their divorce.

Luke’s retirement turns out to be brief, as he receives a new mission to rescue a CIA operative who is codenamed Panda and is in possession of a weapon of mass destruction. However, the mission takes an unexpected turn when Luke discovers that Panda is actually his daughter. “Holy s—, ” shocked, he exclaims, “my daughter’s in the CIA?” His daughter responds with profanity, and he quickly scolds her, saying, “Language!”
Throughout the trailer, there is tension between the father-daughter duo. However, towards the end, Emma reveals that “[she] I’ve learned a ton from working with my dad, how he leads the team, how he keeps his cool, how to slit a man’s throat vertically so he bleeds out faster.”
