Priscilla Presley has addressed the nature of the “feud” between her and her granddaughter, Riley Keough. Following the death of Lisa Marie Presley, the only daughter of Priscilla and Elvis Presley, Priscilla began pursuing legal action regarding Lisa Marie’s will.
In the ensuing litigious fallout, reports claimed that Priscilla was in a feud with Riley, who ended up the sole trustee in Priscilla’s will. Priscilla has now spoke up to describe in her own words the nature of the legal battle, which she classifies as much less grim than other outlets alleged.
Priscilla Presley discusses the legal “feud” with Riley Keough
Priscilla is in England on her “An Evening With Priscilla Presley” tour. During one stop, Priscilla was asked if she was still in contact with Riley. Recently, outlets have been claiming that celebrity – and even royal – intermediaries started acting as a bridge between the two family members and their respective factions.

However, Priscilla answered, “We are just fine,” per The Independent. She and her legal team are contesting a 2016 amendment to Lisa Marie’s will, which removed Priscilla and Barry Siegel, Lisa Marie’s former business partner, as executors. That made her children Benjamin and Riley as sole trustees; Benjamin tragically died by suicide in 2020. Priscilla’s legal team argues that the amendment is not valid because she was not properly informed and her signature is incorrect.
What has and has not happened
The rumors of a feud have gone so far as to claim Riley locked Priscilla out of Graceland by changing the locks. It took a member of the Graceland staff coming forward to shut down these false claims. However, Priscilla is indeed still going to court.
Back in March, she requested that court proceedings, originally scheduled for April, be postponed to mid-May. Women Working reported that, by time of writing, no specific reason had been provided. Additionally, Lisa Marie’s ex, Michael Lockwood, is pursuing a guardianship role over their twins Harper and Finley, claiming there is no conflict of interest because Michael is not in the will to begin with.
