Rumer Willis, the daughter of Hollywood icons Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, is eagerly anticipating the arrival of her first child with boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas. As the due date approaches, Willis shared her excitement during an interview with People.
Rummer shared her expectation and curiosity about what her child will look like and whether the baby will inherit the family’s natural tendency towards humor and goofiness. “We’re a family of weirdos, and I love that so much. I really hope that that is engendered in this child,” she said. “That’s my favorite thing, laughing with my family.”

Rumer explained to People that she eagerly awaits the arrival of her baby, stating that she feels lucky to be on this amazing journey and is excited to meet her child. “I’m just so excited to meet this new tiny person and see who they are,” she said. “It’s such an amazing journey to go on, and I feel so lucky to be experiencing it.”

The 34-year-old also revealed that she is excited to be with family at this time(during Bruce’s FTD diagnosis) and also proud to have the first grandchild of the family. “I’m so grateful that I’m so close with my family and I get to rely on them for support,” Rumer said. “It’s fun to be bringing in the first grandkid in our family, especially because we’re such a huge group at this point.”

During the conversation, the discussion shifted toward her father Bruce’s battle with dementia, and she mentioned that her pregnancy was a joyful break from the anxieties surrounding his health. “Whenever you’re going through stuff, I feel like when you have this new life and this new tiny person coming into the family,” Rumer told People. “It just brings this energy of excitement and joy that’s been so lovely to share with my whole family.”
Also, Rumer expressed admiration for her partner Derek, who has been a constant source of support for her throughout her pregnancy and life struggles. “He’s an angel,” she gushed. “Literally cooks every meal for me, brings me water, is so, so sweet,” she gushed. “He’s been so lovely, and he’s just so excited to be a dad, and we’re both just so delighted to meet whoever this little person is. I could not have asked for a better partner, and he’s going to be such a great dad.”
