After the fate of Twitter was uncertain, it changed ownership to Elon Musk. With new ownership comes new policies, and these new policies have Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings worried that he might get suspended from Twitter, thanks to a very particular trend on the show.
Jennings shares hosting responsibilities with The Big Bang Theory star Mayim Bialik. Between this job and his history as a Jeopardy! champion of historic proportions, Jennings has almost 480k Twitter followers. Since starting his account back in 2011, he’s also taken to following 570 other pages. Why is all of that suddenly at risk?
Ken Jennings might have violated a new Twitter rule, or something adjacent
I’m afraid I’m going to get suspended from Twitter for revealing the exact location of a Daily Double in real time.
— Ken Jennings (@KenJennings) December 16, 2022
There have been some changes on the blue bird app these past few weeks. Users can’t share links to their other social media profiles, for one; this rule was active for about a day before the ban was lifted. The site has also addressed accounts dedicated to tracking Musk’s private jet in real time; the profile @elonjet was suspended last Wednesday for doing just that. Jennings thinks he might end up violating this particular rule in a very Jeopardy! way.

On December 16, two days after the jet-tracking account removal, Jennings took to Twitter and posted, “I’m afraid I’m going to get suspended from Twitter for revealing the exact location of a Daily Double in real time.” This is his game show twist on doxxing, or revealing personal information, on the platform.
Some changes are on the horizon anyway
A big game-changer that allows contestants to win big or lose hard. What is the Daily Double? There’s no telling where the Daily Double – an integral and high-stakes part of any Jeopardy! game – might be each time. That means suspense and secrecy have to be maintained. Then, the lucky contestant has to decide then and there how they want to tackle their bets. Hopefully, Jennings doesn’t let on where the next one is!
He’ll have a break, in any case, since he just wrapped up overseeing the Tournament of Champions. That means it’s time for Bialik to jump back in as host for regular episodes, after she herself finished hosting Celebrity Jeopardy! How would you play the Daily Double if you were on the game show?
