Ken Jennings pays tribute to Alex Trebek

Jeopardy! champion Ken Jennings‘ hosting gig is officially over. Ken took over hosting duties after the final episodes featuring longtime host Alex Trebek aired. Alex sadly died last year after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Ken signed off by saying “Thank you, Alex” at the end of each episode.

On Friday, after his last hosting episode aired, he shared a message with fans on Twitter. He shared a photo of himself at the podium and wrote, “That’s a wrap on my six weeks of @Jeopardy guest hosting. Thanks for watching, thanks for your patience with a tough learning curve…and, as always, thank you Alex.”

Next, executive producer Mike Richards will host for several weeks. Then there will be several other guest hosts including Katie Couric, Bill Whitaker, Aaron Rodgers, and more. Jeopardy! has yet to confirm a permanent replacement. Alex was the host of the popular game show for 37 years.

Ken will continue to work with the show as a consulting producer. He previously won the Greatest of All Time competition. He first competed on the show in 2004 where he won 74 consecutive times.
