In his career spanning over three decades, music artist Toby Keith left an indelible mark on the industry. However, it just so happened that Keith was still eligible. At the inductee announcement, Trahern explained that voting had started before Keith died, allowing him to still qualify. However, Trahern added, "My heart sank that Tuesday afternoon knowing that we’d missed the chance to inform Toby while he was still with us."
