After a year of being catered to in hospice, rumors of former president Jimmy Carter’s death have made rounds on social media yet again; however, his doctor Michael Raines has come forward to debunk the false news of Jimmy’s passing.
Raines noted that Jimmy’s health has been impressive in the last few months with no complaints from him so far. Sadly, many users believed the unconfirmed news and began paying tribute to the oldest living US president on social media.
Jimmy Carter is still very much alive although in hospice
The New York Post and Scripps News were among the first outlets to report Jimmy’s passing before the report was deemed fake by local authorities. Senator Mike Lee from Utah also posted the news but was quick to delete it upon confirming that the former president is still alive and well.

TV stations in Montana did not hesitate to publish obituaries on Jimmy’s behalf, but they were soon taken down as well. Adding to the chaos were individuals like Laura Loomer, who was quick to pay tribute to Jimmy online without digging deeper beyond headlines before propagating rumors.
Jimmy’s health so far
While the world stands still ahead of the inevitable, it is only right to look back on Jimmy’s life and health so far. The 99-year-old has suffered a few life-threatening diseases, such as cancer, which took away his parents and three siblings. He was diagnosed with melanoma in 2015 but underwent months of surgery, radiation therapy, and immunotherapy to fight the illness.
Some years back, Jimmy suffered a couple of bad falls at home after undergoing hip replacement surgery at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Georgia. Jimmy hardly got much time to rest from his treatments before yet another operation to relieve his brain trauma. Thanks to the late First Lady Rosalynn, Jimmy has lived long enough and might celebrate his 100th birthday this October.
