In an exclusive interview with\u00a0Closer Weekly,\u00a0Happy Days\u00a0star\u00a0Anson Williams\u00a0shares the story of how he beat\u00a0cancer\u00a0\u2014 and gained a new perspective on life. Pinterest Just before Christmas last year, the actor who is best known as Potsie, was diagnosed with Stage 2 colon cancer. He soon underwent two surgeries and spent three weeks in the hospital, but he emerged with more than just a clean bill of health \u2014 he had a new attitude. \u201cI turned it into a positive,\u201d Anson tells\u00a0Closer\u00a0of his diagnosis. \u201cI learned I have a purpose for living.\u201d Anson in 2015. (Photo Credit: Getty Images) \u201cIt was the wake-up call I needed,\u201d Anson, 67 \u2014 who is now working to save lives, inspired by his uncle, Dr. Henry Hemlich, by raising awareness of Drowsy Driving, the current cause of more deaths than substance abuse \u2014\u00a0tells\u00a0Closer\u00a0exclusively. \u201cI needed to reprioritize my life.
