Bob Barker Allegations Were Even Worse Than Docuseries Showed, Former Host Claims

Published October 18, 2026

For decades, Bob Barker was one of America’s most beloved television personalities, entertaining millions with his quick wit and familiar presence on The Price Is Right. However, years after his death in 2023 at age 99, a new documentary has renewed conversations about troubling allegations surrounding the legendary game show host and his behavior behind the scenes.

According to Fox News, Marc Summers, best known for hosting Nickelodeon’s Double Dare, recently shared his experiences working with Barker during an appearance on Nostalgia Tonight with Joe Sibilia. The 74-year-old entertainer discussed the E! docuseries Dirty Rotten Scandals, which examines accusations of sexual harassment, discrimination, and a hostile workplace environment on the popular CBS program. His recollections offered another perspective on the television icon whose career spanned several decades.

During the podcast, Summers regretted that Barker was no longer alive to defend himself but maintained that the documentary reflected his experiences. “Everything on there was true and then some,” he claimed, adding that he had more stories to share privately. Summers also recalled Barker’s overwhelming confidence, noting that he displayed “WGMC,” meaning “World’s Greatest MC,” on his dressing room door and dress shirts.

Summers also recalled a payment dispute involving a game show Barker was developing. He claimed Barker requested 25 questions, but he submitted 50 to make a good impression. Despite expecting several hundred dollars, Summers said he received just $50. Meanwhile, former Price Is Right model Holly Hallstrom alleged in the documentary that she was fired after refusing to defend Barker against sexual harassment accusations made by fellow model Dian Parkinson in 1994.

Barker became a household name through Truth or Consequences before taking over The Price Is Right in 1972. His entertaining exchanges with contestants, memorable catchphrases, and enthusiastic presentation helped make the CBS game show a daytime television institution. He remained its host until retiring in 2007, completing an extraordinary 35-year run. Beyond entertainment, Barker also became a passionate animal welfare advocate, frequently encouraging viewers to have their pets spayed or neutered.

Despite his successful television career, Barker faced legal controversies. Parkinson filed a sexual harassment lawsuit in 1994 but dropped it the following year. Barker denied wrongdoing, maintaining their relationship was consensual. Hallstrom also sued after her dismissal, eventually reaching a settlement with Barker and CBS without any admission of wrongdoing. Meanwhile, Barker’s longtime publicist defended him, while former producer Roger Dobkowitz disputed the documentary’s portrayal. These conflicting accounts continue to complicate his television legacy.
