Winning a car on The Price Is Right is a dream come true for most contestants, but the excitement does not end when the cameras stop rolling. For winner Kate Steinberg, giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at what happened next after her viral moment of reaction was the way to go.
Kate shared her experience in a YouTube video, capturing the real-life steps of claiming her prize. After winning a Nissan Versa on the show, she revealed that winners are not locked into the exact model offered. Instead, they can opt to receive credit toward a different car. Kate took that route, using her prize credit to upgrade to a Toyota RAV4, which she called a major upgrade.

Contrary to what viewers may think, winners are not stuck with the vehicle presented on stage. They can use the cash value of their win at participating dealerships, which at that point depends on what suits them best. Kate preferred practicality over glamour, exchanging the Versa for a more spacious and reliable RAV4.
She was obviously excited as she received her new vehicle, cheering and celebrating with the dealership employees. Fans were touched by Kate’s reaction, and they flooded her YouTube comments with praise for choosing a ride that was both smart and sustainable.
Reaction to winner Kate’s moment
Most commended her for opting for functionality over bling, and other RAV4 owners chipped in calling it a reliable car that lasts. Her choice felt refreshingly real where most people often celebrate flash over substance.
Even after all these years of being a beloved TV show, The Price Is Right still brings moments like these, that are genuine and unforgettable. With over 9,000 episodes, the show has not only awarded prizes; it’s created moments that stick in people’s heads long after the cameras stop rolling.
