According to Yahoo Entertainment, at 62, Lisa Whelchel says she is finally ready to share experiences she has kept private for years. The actress told followers that the project will cover nearly two decades of stories, including major personal changes, unusual adventures, relationships, and moments from her career that fans have never heard in full.

Whelchel revealed her shorter hairstyle in an Instagram video and joked that something new deserved a new look. She then introduced “Throw Out the Bathwater,” where she plans to write candidly about experiences she has collected over the past 18 years.
Among the topics she teased are her time on “Survivor,” a 30-day silent retreat, walking the Camino, four ayahuasca ceremonies, and her experiences with love and relationships. She told fans that she finally feels ready to open up about those chapters, with her first free story scheduled to arrive on Feb. 19. The project may also give longtime viewers more insight into events surrounding “The Facts of Life.” Whelchel has indicated that she plans to address the reunion drama that emerged after plans for a possible revival fell apart.
‘The Facts of Life’ Made Her a Familiar Face to a Generation
Whelchel became famous as wealthy and confident Blair Warner on “The Facts of Life,” which aired on NBC from 1979 through 1988. She starred alongside Nancy McKeon, Kim Fields, Mindy Cohn, and Charlotte Rae, helping turn the series into one of the most recognizable sitcoms of its era. Years later, Whelchel surprised fans by competing on “Survivor: Philippines” in 2012. She tied for second place and won the fan-favorite vote, showing viewers a much different side of the actress they remembered from Eastland School. She currently hosts MeTV’s “Collectors Call,” keeping her connected to television and nostalgia audiences.
Fans have long hoped for a Facts of Life reunion. In 2024, Cohn revealed that revival talks during the pandemic, involving Norman Lear, fell apart after conflict with one cast member.
